My Experience With Distrokids - Music Distributors Services

This is a article about my personal experiences using the Distrokids music distributors to dictate my releases and music records- including but, not limited to: albums, singles and other things and degradation of deceptions depiction and described. Make sure you follow me here on this blog and (my youtube is a bit inactive and hard to keep up with to update at times and its going to go under construction most likely due to Distrokids most likely....and my other youtube is going to be updated into doing something else completely diffrent_ for *unknown duration of times.)
I had 2 years and maybe a half of Distrokids. I released multiple albums and songs- through their company but, its a bit good till its bad; more bad till it makes you think its good, still nonetheless, never was good to begin with too good to be true things many commercially known products have more problems as more people increase so does the qualifiers and quality in most cases like Distrokid.
Things with Distrokids started out decent. I was on the single artist plan because i believed it would be easier and music i make is more myself so, it was the best fitting option for me. Tje plan was "$20 a year" and unlimited uploads but, there's the other catch its not always does as it says and alot of the keep "100% of your earnings" is not really in lineup with that wording. As far as, the "extras" "leave a legacy" "lyrics submission" "referrals" never worked or was paid out or fully happened correctly. As with anything else on Americans mind ("a*holes do exactly everything they wrote and were born to do- only says the person being misled by their dreams" *** and yes i meant it and i fully mean it with the most enjoyable sarcastic voice over you can come up with without laughing first- before i do!)
"extras" "leave a legacy" "lyrics submission" "referrals" never did as advertised. I never got anything i was supposed to get- and more important the "leave a legacy" features is trash, waste of money like $60 everytime even if its a small album it generally is around $40-50 on the lower end when it was available to me. "leave a legacy" is supposed to never delete your albums even if you miss a payment or distro messes up but, they actually lied about it albums are removed from stores and Distrokids if you missed payment or anything happens...another note to make is they have such a horrible system for independent artists to submit lyrics. The independent artists lyrics submission is way way way a million times more strict and asks for perfection and rejects independent artists lyrics a million times - on purpose because popular artists on big labeos don't write at all and many send it in for them. Plus, Distrokids doesn't allow independent artists to send lyrics that they think sounds like you said another or different word either so, i do not recommend Distrokids to anybody disabled with their speech or other things like writing distributors can be difficult and disappointing send back several times rejecting submissions. Most the times for example: big artists writes this lyric " i was bout ta show them, so i blow up da man like i don't know him, i tole him he's a old friend- but he's so old nobody owe him!" -DellSell Lyric Example writte. By me for showing purpose. As for a independent artists thru Distributor like Distrokid this writing is rejected and sent back to you for several errors including -Da or Tha instead of The...but, a bunch of bigger artists write worse or the same its accepted in all its glamerized grammar error aspects with no notifications or rejections and everybody rejoice for that famous personality that the fans think personally wrote the song more productive people made-up on a bad day and ploy of plays for remaining in great power. Referrals money i didn't receive any and it was never accounted for on my profile.
Distrokids has disadvantages.
-do i write my own songs? Yes i do in fact all of my own songs and lyrics and make the beats typically most importantly as a independent artists- To sum it up on this aspect because of how strict and strange the difference for submission to lyrics are impossible to get them approved and posted by the misic stores by independent artists i stopped submitting them it was a wastes of time and critical thinking to still be send back several times as rejected.
The End Of Working With Distrokids And Why????
Distrokids disrespectfully lied to me about many things and many bots they use is not always good customer services so, when you have a issue you hardly get to talk to a real person or human being about anything. The robots are emotionless and do not care about the artists om the other side of the screen your vitually just slept on Americans do it as another number signs up every few minutes a month looking for an alternative to their old providers or civil and financial situations and credit cards circumstances due to covid and other consumers conditions and/ or communities standards; however, Distrokids is not customer oriented or unique to you so we are nothing unique to them.
I decided instead am indestructible. Instead of be the industry kind of idiot without information but, just lives off everyone elses opinions and for that i was dropped from Distrokids as advertised because they wanted my music to be the same sound and sells as the major labeled signed nonintellectuals they own and will own and hold onto in the current times where everybody expects music to be super super generic with nothing exciting except the image concept of the way the artists look and dress and races and bad tastes overall. Many independent artists are paying out-of-pocket expenses and trying to expand but expressionists hate exciting efforts ot makes them uncomfortable to see unique and hear it also. I was given tue same fake notice as everyone else
"Due to editorial discretion- your release has been rejected by the stores- the music stores is no longer allowing you to submit songs or accepting you through Distrokids".....The same notice they sent thousands of artists.....exact same copy and paste latter and bunch of artists online and on youtube have the same thing happened to them.
I talked to the music stores most of them have nothing to do with this disapproval or rejections--- its all Distributors and Distrokids responsible for these notices and ending subscribers without warning proof or legal notices or warnings from the music stores or anything. Distributors also give no way to contact the stores or customers services.
To add to the issues- Distrokids controled my spotify and managed my other music channel and they didnt ever give me a music charts update or anything like yearly Spotify for artist stats or things they should have done. Differently. Its very disappointing and disheartening distributors are required to release songs....the whole middle man services sucks everything single handedly is worse and more disarray to independents. Be it one way or another, they find ways to screw us as mutual the fed up feeling is returned.
Do i recommend Distrokids before my 2 years with them? : yes, i did.
Do i recommend Distrokids after my 2 years with them? : no! i dont think its such a good idea because they are behind multiple scams and doing a disservice to many independent artists who deserve better abd they lie about things including why they ended your subscription and subscribers all tooken away and your followers they gave you to want to buy more from them so. they look like a good distributor. They only care about big brand names and Hollywood because they were greedy wrestling for money and attention over the music market- not for the artists sake but, to make and keep the success to their name and sell more plans and products; more freedom to be creative should be given to the artists, and never should be compared to big brand named Hollywood and big record deal signed artists especially when compared to sales amounts.....distrokids lies they do drop artists over money and sales amounts and lie they are very misleading and falsely advertised because "they never said anything about you need over 400,000 album sales and streams= this many a year needed to remain on our plans" and this is what they do behind the scenes and screens- telling otherwise- when more music artists are on a small budget already as is and hardly getting anything or little to non liveable wages- cause thats for the biggest already famous artists and people to be familiar faces and unfair game for new or inde artists whomever has worked and overworked themselves countless hours and timelessly and tirelessly on the work and projects to still not be picked or preferred or packed up with freeloading merchandise or free swag and offers like bigger name branded artists and generics using their looks and body and sexual suggestive lyrics to get their way in life and Distrokids"..... unfortunately, has the same method and message as approached to advertising the opposite.
Have i ever tried other Distrokids distribution services and alike carousel corporations? : only a few times...but, most had other issues or simmered down of these issues so, i moved on from them.
Will you write about other services you have used or tried out? : sure
Will you write about other topics and subjects or only music? : From the dirty to the clean- to the center and from the outside personal and private experiences and perspective yes! DellSell will i am always keeping truth.
DellSell i am on Distrokids plan do you think they will refund me? (What if i say or am going to pick a new distributors company?) And will my songs and files automatically transfer over by themselves or moved over between the two-new- and old distributors? : Well, for starting reference- No you will not receive a refund- as i have not and my musicians i was managing or their friends nor my friends- nobody got any money back or funded. If you say you are going to a new distributors they will try to make you stay in your plan most likely to use you longer for money; telling them only gets them to send rude comments and copy and pasted messages from customer services and nod off you are a write off of problems and profitable losses they do this in private. No! They will not transfer your music or files over for you or to a new service and the new service will not request nor ever receive them and Distrokids keeps no records or responses or responsibility or proof of disputes. Why don't Distrokids keep those as proof and show to you or its arts and purpose? To them is all about business and they do not build personal relationships or records everything's automated and answers are already written and same messages sent to every customer and client of the companys they own several and its same methods and messages used by them and customer services.
Great! What are we going to do now to get music out? : everything is up to you maybe can find a new company and be careful to write down or "select all" on each individual release songs and albums and send/save to yourself -i do it by email its faster to select all copy and paste them in a email sent directly to you...so you can upload the song again possible anywhere else depending on which store but you have to use the exact same metadata as you used and details used when you uploaded them. UPC, ISBC, ISBN, Same Artist/s Name, Date Of Release, If its a cover song repay the fees/original with words vocals/instrumental, Songwriters, and more All has to be the exact same information or it may be rejected by the online music stores.
Whats next for DellSell at the current moment?: Focusing on life and my kidds and family. Not letting the haters and irrelevant decide my future or things for me. Getting ready to let summer time in and ignore the infallible people employed be terrible tasteless mashed Potatoes in ear folks that dont knoe anal from twerk and deceptions from discounted or discoveries from recoverys or indolence from independent entertainment in the industry....for those who run on a "only-m
